Pho Challenge

So me and a couple of my friends thought we try this one pho restaurant (Pho Garden on Clement and 23rd Avenue). They have a "Pho Challenge" which is basically a humongous bowl of pho (2lbs of meat, 2lbs of noodles) that you have to finish within an hour. It costs $22, but if you can finish, you don't have to pay. I eat a lot and I still couldn't finish it all. I will eventually get my picture up on the wall!

"Oh crap..."

Look how big the bowl is compared to my head!

"So...full..." I felt sick!

I'ma post a quick post cuz I lagged like a mofo to post up pix of our Fanime costumes. So here they are!

Here's a little video of us too!

I'm selling my Pyramid Head helmet and making a new one if anyone's interested! Instead of cardboard, I'm making it out of foamboard.

Sword? Check.

I'm gunna make this a very short post cuz I gotta go to sleep. But I just wanted to show everybody my 6 feet long sword, a.k.a. Pyramid Head's Great Knife. It's actually pretty heavy cuz I put alotta cardboard in there for reinforcement.

Here is Elisa's weapon: a bloody pipe.

After I get off work tomorrow, I'm gunna dirty up my apron and then I'm ready to go! Fanime, here we come!

Almost done...

Fanime is this weekend, and me and Elisa are going this Sunday. That means my costume has to be finished by then! I'm basically done with my helmet...I just gotta change out the black cloth that's covering the eye holes cuz I can barely see anything! I'll probably use large women's black stockings =P I just primers the sword today and I'ma paint the sword tomorrow. My mom's gunna help me with the apron tomorrow as well. I gotta alotta work to do! On top of that, I gotta finish a final project for school by next week.

Anyways, here's the pix of what I got so far.

The Great Knife is 6 feet long! I was originally gunna make it 7 feet, but that's way too long. Gunna paint it tomorrow and see how that goes. I'll paint the blood on there once I figure out how to paint good-looking blood. Check back for updates!

A typical Friday night

So it's Friday night, alotta people are probably out partying, but I'm just chillin' at home cuz I have work at 7AM. I don't really mind cuz I'm used to it though...I'm not really the partying type anyways. Maybe once in a while. I'd rather just be in the comfort of my home, surf the net, and play video games...

Oh, I finally got my S13's fog lights working. Not bad at all for Walmart fog lights, huh? =P HIDs and yellow fog lights...not a bad combination!

For those who didn't already know, the USPS is coming out with The Simpsons stamps on May 7th. Go pre-order yours today! I pre-ordered those, and plus a framed art collectible of the stamps too!

I've been looking around for a new belt lately, and I came across this one that I had to have! Isn't it hella sick!

*yawn* I'm tired, so I'ma finish watching Slumdog Millionaire, then hit the hay. Night people!

My Simpsons obsession

Every since 1989, I've been a HUGE fan of The Simpsons. It's the only show that I used to watch when I was a little kit and STILL watch up to this date. Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, Pokemon...it all gets kinda old and you eventually grow out of it, but there's something about The Simpsons that makes it one of the longest running cartoons of all time! As far as I can remember, whenever there would be a new Simpsons episode on Sundays, I would make sure that I was in front of the TV watching that new episode, otherwise I'll have somebody record it for me. Thankfully, now if I miss an episode, I can always watch it online, but I'd rather still watch it the day it comes out.

I just added a couple new cabinets (painted baby blue, of course) to my room and I put up a little Simpsons shrine there. Like it?

I also have a few posters too! (There's still a few I haven't put up yet.)

I also have the COMPLETE collection of the KidRobot Simpsons, but I think it looks better next to my bed.

That collection alone cost me over $400! It's okay...it was well worth it. I hope they come out with a series 2!

Pyramid Head in progress

So Fanime isn't until the end of May, but it's better to get a head start, especially since my costume isn't all that easy to make from scratch (thankfully, there are tutorials though). So yesterday, me and Elisa went to Haight to look for some platform boots for me. Pyramid Head in the movie was wearing like 12 inch platforms, so I wanted to copy. I'm already 6'1", adding the helmet would make me about 7 feet tall. Then I'm gunna try and get 12 inch platforms so I can be around 8 feet tall! I wanna make people's jaws drop when they see my costume!

We then went to my work (FedEx) and got a huge piece of unbent cardboard. Although it may not look like that much work, I did spend a lot of time on this last night...with the hardest part to come. Well, here's what I got so far:

The next step is probably gunna be the hardest part of the costume. I have to glue the triangle pieces onto a hard hat, and it HAS TO BE PERFECTLY SYMMETRICAL! It's gunna take a while...I'll be sure to post up pictures of it once I get the base of the Pyramid Head helmet done.

Love On a Diet

I dunno how many people watch Hong Kong movies, but there's a few that I really like. They're funny, romantic comedies with a cute ending and all that...kinda girly, but I like it! =P This past week, I showed Elisa "Love On a Diet" with Andy Lau and Sammi Cheng. I thought I'd share it with everybody since it's just a good movie!

Sammi Cheng plays Mimi Mo, a young exchange student to Japan who met and fell in love with a pianist, Kurokawa. Kurokawa eventually leaves to study music in the US and returns to Japan as a famous musician. Meanwhile, Mimi has dealt with her depression by eating and weights over 300lbs and Kurokawa doesn’t recognize her. Mimi eventually meets Fatty (Andy Lau) who helps her lose the weight so she can fulfill her promise of meeting Kurokawa made 10 years earlier. But they fall in love...

Preparing for Fanime

So last week, there was a comic book convention, WonderCon, at Moscone Center. I kinda wanted to go, but then my co-worker told me about Fanime, a Japanese anime/manga convention. All of a sudden, I lost interest in WonderCon. I looked up pictures of Fanime and it seems like a big portion of the people that attend dress up in cosplay. Me and Elisa have been wanting to dress up as Silent Hill characters, so finally here's our chance! I'm going to go as Pyramid Head and Elisa's gunna dress up as the nurse. We're gunna make our own costumes, so I'm trying to get a head start, especially since my costume (mainly my helmet) is kinda complicated to make.

This a what Pyramid Head looks like (for those who don't already know):

And here's a picture of the nurse from Silent Hill:

Fanime is not until the end of May, but I wanna get a big head start just in case I run into some problems making my costume. I already got some cardboard for the helmet and cut out some triangles. I need to buy a glue gun and a few other things, but I'm gunna need a big-ass piece of cardboard for my sword. I actually found a big piece at work today, but it was soooo big, that I don't think I could possibly fit it in my car. I'm gunna make the Great Knife 6 feet long, but the tip of the handle to the tip of the blade. I also need platforms to make me look huge, preferably some 12 inch platforms or something. I'll post up pictures later of my costume in the making.

Anyways, I'ma finish up my fried rice, play a little bit of CoD (double-point weekend!) and hit the hay. Gotta be at work at 7am.
